Dr. Bob Curran
Born and raised in a remote mountain area in Northern Ireland, Dr. Bob Curran left school at age 24 to work a number of jobs: Gravedigger, lorry driver, professional musician, journalist, and scripter of comics. After traveling throughout many countries, he retired to his home to work in Civil Service until he graduate from universities with degrees in education, history, and educational psychology, which allowed him to teach.
Currently, he serves as a consultant to many cultural bodied within his community and Province, dealing with cross-border matters with the Irish Republic for the Office of the First and Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, as well as for numerous tourism companies. He lectures widely.
His experiences led him to write 38 books on history and culture, with several being translated into many other languages.
He is a noted folklore expert and researcher into arcane subjects such as zombies, vampires, werewolves, and Celtic lore. He will talk about his books on Gianni’s radio shows: Werewolves: A Field Guide to Shape-shifters, Lycanthropes, and Man-Beasts, along with Vampires, Zombies, and Lost Lands, Forgotten Realms, Encyclopedia of the Undead, Dark Fairies and Walking with the Green Man. In his book, he examines the chronological, mythical, and illusory elements comprising his terrifying tales. Using his educational achievements in psychology, he isolates and evaluates the rudiments of belief and scientific constructs and confines of objective reality.
Dr. Curran lives in Derry County with his family.
