Christianity vs. Wicca

Recently, the national press reported an incident regarding s public school shop student wanting to build a Wiccan alter as his project. The teacher denied him this for two reasons:

1). He felt it was a violation of church and state; and

2). that since Christianity was not allowed to be expressed in schools, why should other religions? The teacher was suspended, and currently, the case is unresolved.  The issue, then, comes down to the right of the expression of none or all religions.

This is the issue Gianni’ show will examined, allowing both sides to express their beliefs in a dialogue between a noted Christian author Vs a prominent Wiccan minister.  Listeners will be encouraged to form their own opinions, and to call in and share in the men’s two-hour debate.  This will be an exciting show!

Mr. Steve Wohlberg has earned a B.A. degree in Theology from La Sierra College (Riverside, CA), a Masters of Divinity degree from Andrews Seminary (Berrien Springs, MI), has written 24 books on a variety of Bible topics, and has been a guest on over 500 radio and television shows. Deeply appreciated for his solid biblical teaching and Christ-centered focus, his ministry has become known throughout the world.

In 2007, he was contacted by the Chaplain’s Office of the United States Pentagon and officially invited to me to be one of the speakers. The purpose of the symposium was to give various speakers an opportunity to express different views of Revelation. Bestselling author Joel Rosenberg also spoke on Israel and Iran. Additionally, he was invited by the Chaplain’s Office of the U.S. Senate to speak to the Senate Staff Bible, joined by other speakers, Charles Stanley, Rick Warren, and Max Lucado.

As a speaker, ministry director, author as well as radio and TV show host and producer, he has appeared on CNN Radio, USA Radio, Cable Radio Network, American Family Radio, and many others. His newest work, Hour of the Witch: Harry Potter, Wicca Witchcraft, and the Bible (Destiny Image), offers insights into the explosive growth of Wicca Witchcraft among teenagers and adults. Mr. Wohlberg has always had a keen interest in Wicca as well as the Harry Potter debate.

He offers that Hour of the Witch is a bold warning-sign on the fast track of day to day living to Christians and non-believers. It is also a “wake-up call” to every person to guard his or her heart, mind and eyes. Author of Courting the Lady, a Wiccan Journey, Reverend Patrick McCollum is founding elders of the Wicca/Earth-Based Spirituality, and has continuously taught workshops and classes on Earth-Based Spirituality, Wicca, and on Wiccan theology, including the history of Pagan spirituality and its connections to modern mainstream religion.

He is director of the National Correctional Chaplaincy Directors Association and serves as the Chaplaincy Liaison for the American Academy of Religion.  He is an ordained minister with Circle Sanctuary, and serves as the Prison Ministry Coordinator for the Lady Liberty League. Too, he serves as director of Chaplaincy for the Cherry Hill Seminary, member of the National Advisory Council for American’s United for the Separation of Church, and   state Executive Board Member of the United Nation’’s NGO, Children of the Earth, and Board Member of the Monarch Bear Institute. Reverend McCollum is Director of Our Lady of the Wells Church.

He functioned as an advisor to the United States Commission on Civil Rights on matters regarding religious discrimination and chaplaincy in US prison, and as a professional Member of the American Correctional Chaplains Association, the Associated Chaplains in California State Service, and the American Correctional Association.  He was the keynote Speaker for the state chaplain’s in California, as well as for the State chaplains in North Carolina, and guest speaker at the Parliament of the Worlds Religions.  In 2007, helped secure the right for US Wiccan soldiers killed in action to have their religious symbol, the Pentacle, displayed on their military headstones in a manner equal to that offered to other mainstream faiths.

Among other appearances and offices, Patrick McCollum has appeared in hundreds of news articles on Wicca, Earth Religions, and Paganism, and has been interviewed numerous times on radio and on TV, including as technical assistance to the History Channel’’s prime time documentary on Wicca, narrated by Leonard Nemoy.
